Synopsis
Underbelly is the attempt to capture a dream-like sequence through film. Drifting into sleep, our opening sequence quickly borrows the quality of a conscious to subconscious transition. Fractured narratives combining memories and imagination develop into a dreamscape which the audience experiences through the eyes of the the dreamer.
As memories and conscious begin to intertwine and we journey through the dreamscape, something doesn’t appear to be quite right. Camouflaged with seemingly familiar identities, an outside presence is detected by the dreamer. This presence is searching the subconscious realm of the dreamer for something abstract, it takes the form of a blue light, a psychological battle of wits ensues as the dreamer attempts to control the dream and protect the location of the light source from the intruder.
